Standard VAG Alternator pulleys are 55mm diameter. With a 139mm crankshaft diameter pulley @ 7500 rpm’s that spins the alternator to almost 19,000 rpm’s. Constant track racing eventually causes the alternator to fail due to over spinning. Our 65mm diameter lowers the RPM of the alternator to 16,000 rpm’s @ 7500 rpm’s otherwise mimicking how the alternator in original fashion would operate at 6200 rpm’s.
